5 out of 5 stars A REAL Dark French Roast Coffee!   July 10, 2008
WhiteWindWarrior (Lancaster, NH USA)
Admittedly, if you don't like a dark French Roast Coffee, nothing I can say here will change your mind. On the other hand if you enjoy a truly deep, dark, robust, and stimulating French Roast Coffee, something to sit around the table just conversing about coffee or discussing the latest geopolitical problems of the world, or just simply pondering the simple things in life, you will love this one. Every morning I savor it! For years I traveled and would stop in small specialty roasting coffee houses just to enjoy the aroma and of course to sample their roasts. I enjoyed the French Roasts the most. Over time I came to understand that all French Roasts are not the same. When I stumbled onto the Rocomojo Wild Organic Gourmet French Roast sold through Amazon, I felt compelled to at least try it! My what an experience! And it's sold in a REAL full 1lb bag to! Unbelievable!! May I say if your taste buds are mature enough for genuine dark french roast coffee, you must try this one. You won't be disappointed, trust me this is the real McCoy!

4 out of 5 stars Good beans @ a reasonable price   February 17, 2008

I have tried every roast available from Rocamojo on the Amazon. I have found the French Roast to be the best available. These beans make a dark rich cup of coffee that you won't be disappointed with. The bulk bag makes the price reasonable and you don't have to worry about re-ordering for awhile.

1 out of 5 stars Not For Coffee Lovers   December 8, 2007

About a year ago I purchased a vacuum sealer and canister set. I did this expressly to keep my coffee in, though I do use it for other things. Even vacuum sealed ground coffee only stays fresh for so long. Several months ago I purchased a coffee grinder and started buying coffee beans rather than ground coffee. If you're reading this I'm sure you're already familiar with just how good freshly ground coffee is.

I decided I would buy some different coffee beans from different sources to see if I could make the experience even better. These Rocamojo Organic coffee beans were one of those purchases. When I opened the bag the first thing I did was smell them. Honestly they don't smell like coffee beans at all. They actually smell of must with just a hint of stale coffee. Thinking that it was probably the way they are meant to smell I ground some and made coffee. It was simply horrible.

None of my family or friends who have sampled coffee made from these beans like it. It isn't that they are to strong, they just don't have a true coffee flavor. I suppose I could have just gotten a bad bag of them, but I wouldn't recommend these to anyone.

LOVE THIS COFFEE; WORTH BUYING IN BULK. DARK, DEEP, SINCERE BREW, THE BEST IF YOU LIKE IT STRONG.

5 out of 5 stars Whole Bean Coffee   March 12, 2007

This is about the best coffee I have ever purchased. It is a dark roast which is what we prefer. 5 lbs. is a lot of coffee but worth the investment. If you like a good cup of rich coffee in the morning, this is sure to get your day off to a great start.
