 Good coffee, poor packaging October 12, 2008

The coffee itself is just fine. But two packaging issues:
(1) This is minor -- I have to use scissors to open each packet -- no easy 'tear strip' or anything.
(2) This is major -- approximately half of the pods aren't sealed shut, so you pull it out of the packet and the coffee is all over the inside of the packet instead of in the pod. So it goes straight to the trash. That about doubles the net cost of these pods.
I had hoped just one box had this problem, but I'm on my 2nd box, and it's the same. Maybe this is just a bad batch, but I won't be buying these again.

Ive been purchasing the Melitta pods for awhile now and it was nice to find a decaffinated flavor so that I could enjoy a cup later in the evening and not worry about problems falling asleep.

I'm a big coffee drinker in an environment with almost no other coffee drinkers, and I make pod coffee fairly often. These are the first decaf pods I've tried, and they're very good, every bit as good as their non-decaf counterpart.

I think the Melitta One Decaf is the best on the market. What I also like about Melitta One java pods is that they are the only coffee company - that I'm aware of - in which each and every pod is sealed in an individual foil package thereby keeping the coffee fresher. The other coffee companies toss 18 pods together in a resealable bag. My favorite Melitta One is the Breakfast Blend.
