Good, but not the best. November 21, 2008 Lauryn Angel-cann (Frisco, TX) Yuban is a smooth coffee, without the bitterness of other brands. It smells wonderful while it's being brewed, but I didn't find the taste to be spectacular. It's good, certainly, but not as good as the San Antonio blend I buy at the local Central Market.
Pretty good November 19, 2008 Amy Carden (Saint Paul, MN) This coffee is pretty good, especially for the price. I paid about $2.50 a pound! I recommend to anyone looking to cut back. I'm used to paying about $12.99-$16.99 a pound for really good organic coffee. So, a slight trade off I suppose since it's not organic. Although, it is fair-trade! My coffee grinder hasn't been of any use because this coffee is ground. That's a slight drawback, but it seems to be OK. I never thought I'd buy ground coffee. I haven't noticed that yucky, not-fresh taste you get with some ground coffees. All-in-all, I'm pleased with my purchase and am saving tons of cash!
yuban breakfast blend November 17, 2008 brigid (MA) This is a great product. Its delicious. The best part is subscribe and save I never have to worry about running out of coffee
Yuban Organic works for Me November 15, 2008 WebShopper (Burke, VA) As a regular Dunkin Donuts drinker, I found the ORGANIC Yuban to be a good substitute for me. It is not bitter and is a good choice for going the organic route.
A value when it's on sale November 1, 2008 Kathlyn Storey (Rancho Murieta, CA) Amazon ran this on sale for $19.97 recently, including super saver shipping, versus the current price of $28 plus. This is a medium grind coffee, which my husband and I prefer in the morning, and it does not disappoint. I have been drinking Yuban coffee for years and, frankly, I didn't know that they made it in hazelnut flavor and had to try it. We like it. There are probably slightly better flavored hazelnut varieties out there, but for the cost of this one, $4.44 per pound, the value and good taste are here if you are a regular coffee drinker. Of course the coffee comes ground in pressure sealed bags, and the I always check the expiration date, which on this shipment was April 12, 2009. Once I open a package, I store the remainder in the freezer. Another way to ensure flavor is to pay attention to the quality of the water you use. Ours is double filtered, going first through a whole house filter, and then for the second time through the refrigerator's water dispenser/filter. If I didn't have the two filters, I would make coffee with distilled water because I'm a nut about good tasting coffee. This coffee doesn't have an edge or leave you with "excess acid" later, which is important for me because I'm going to drink 4 or 5 cups every morning.
