Excellent Coffee at a Great Price August 26, 2008

Great coffee and always fresh from Amazon. My preferred flavor is the Dark Sumatra 32oz of which you get 2 bags. It lasts me a month. The coffee itself is rich and darkly roasted bringing out the oil which I like giving it a great, strong flavor. It's a great bargain at this price.

The French Roast blend is a whole bean dark roast with a sweet aroma. Proper storage is required to get the most out of these beans since they come in a large 2-pound bag. The resulting coffee is rich and nutty, just the right acidity and smoothness for a strong pick-me-up in the morning. Highly recommended and a steal at Amazon's prices.
Answering the Decaf Question July 9, 2008

This coffee is very tasty. I too noticed the decaf text on the bag when it arrived. I emailed Cafe Altura and Cindy from their offices confirmed that it is not decaf (which I suspected after a cup of this wonderful roast). She stated it is "just a description of our different processing methods". In fact she says that Amazon does not sell any of their decaf products at all. Hopefully this will end the debate as to whether their Amazon blends are decaf or not.

This is really a great cup of coffee. I've been searching for coffee like this for a while now. The coffee available at our local grocer is very typical. Expensive, corporate and definitely not as fresh. I use a stove-top percolator and the coffee smooth and rich.

For the price, this organic coffee is good. We pay about $9.99 for half pound for higher quality for local coffee shoppe beans. Overall the flavor was full-bodied, but it tasted watered down. We used the proper amount of beans, ground them fresh right before brewing, and just didn't didn't get the zing I expected. It did have a nice aroma and finish though. the acidity was well-balanced. I might try extra beans next time. I would definitely purchase this again and maybe mix this with our regular coffee to stretch it.
