G O O D.......I N S T A N T......C O F F E E !! June 29, 2008 Patricia (Queens, New York, USA) NOTE: THIS INSTANT COFFEE....LIKE ALL COFFEES, INSTANT OR GROUND, SHOULD BE KEPT IN THE REFRIGERATOR AFTER OPENING, TO PRESERVE FRESHNESS! ...............COFFEE...COFFEE...COFFEE...COFFEE.................. "OXYGEN REJWAN" Instant coffee produces a nice, mild-to-the taste cup! It isn't too strong, or too weak. It is "just right" for those who, like myself, want a good-tasting, middling-strong brew whenever we drink coffee. AND....NO MATTER HOW STRONG YOU MAKE IT, IT NEVER TASTES BITTER!!!!! When I first saw this instant coffee pictured, on Amazon, I honestly thought it came from India! The name "Oxygen Rejwan" did sound to me like Hindi --but then what do I know? I don't speak Hindi, but of course have heard it spoken on TV. My knowledge of Hebrew is elementary, at best, (I know about 10 words for sure!) I guess when most people think of Israel, they don't think about coffee plantations...but, upon reflection, the climate there does seem to be about right. Anyway, I've never found a 100% pure instant coffee, (as this one is), that I haven't enjoyed, and -- (as the price seemed within my budget), I decided to try this coffee, wherever it came from. As I said, it's not a bad instant coffee. The container -- a round cardboard affair with metal top and bottom -- opens and closes like a tin of baking powder does. I think it would keep better if it were in a glass container, but I guess the cardboard does cut down on the cost, (including shipping costs)....and most people use up coffee -- instant or otherwise -- fairly quickly. If kept in refrigerator after opening, (as should be done with ALL coffee, instant or ground), it should last a decent amount of time. (And, of course, one can always transfer the coffee, from it's cardboard container, into an empty glass instant coffee container, if desired.) The red, gold and brown design of the outside, along with the cup of coffee, and coffee beans, pictured, is very inviting, and nicely designed. I suppose I was hoping to get a "ground coffee" taste from this instant coffee from Israel. Such was not the case. (Maybe if I add a little espresso instant, it could help). Anyway, it's a good basic cup of instant coffee...which should please instant coffee drinkers, though those used to French Ground Coffee might be a bit disappointed. The best instant coffee I've come across so far, (no surprise), is "Taster's Choice". Oxygen Rewan coffee, though, comes close. It's good coffee. With so many lives being lost in the Middle East today, maybe a good slogan would be: " Make Coffee -- Not War " : )
Excellent Instant coffee April 8, 2008 Kathryn L. Tate (San Francisco, CA) This just arrived and I anxiously made a batch of it. My! Really good--and strong-Middle Eastern coffee, which is what I was hoping for. The coffee also dissolves well with the water, not like other brands that tend to have build up when making iced coffee (which is what I drink). I will keep buying this at amazon as long as they have it up.
Decent coffee for the price March 24, 2007 Joan of Arc 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
As far as instant coffee goes, this is not bad at all and is cheaper than instant coffee in the grocery store. It doesn't have much of a jolt but it is drinkable.
