actually decaf! November 29, 2008 anonymous (Ballard, Seattle, WA USA) I happen to suffer from migraines but love my tea, so breaking the chai habit was hard when I started to get sick. As you may or may not know, not all 'decaf' products are 100 percent decaffinated, which can be a problem for those like myself who can't have it and the percentage of caffine is high for a 'decaf' product. This chai, while not only tasting great, has never given me problems while most other 'decaf' varieties do. Great in the morning to get warmed up and get going, but also great for night time as there is no caffine to keep you up.
I love this tea January 19, 2008 pilot27k (Kentucky) I love this tea. It is my morning treat and it only has 100 calories. My ritual is a cup of chai tea and a special K bar for a low cal breakfast. Amazon is great. They did not have the decaf tea but sold the other varieties. After writing they added it to their product line. I will continue to buy from them as it saves me a trip to a bigger city (the only place I can find it) and saves me money as they sell it for less. I've tried other instant chai teas and oregon chai is the best. A lot of coffee/tea businesses use the liquid product. I drink decaf drinks so it is wonderful they offer it in decaf. By the way, if you have ever had oregon chai tea the decaf isn't quite as flavorful but it is still great tasting.
J. Phillips in Montana April 21, 2007 J. Phillips I love this brand Chai tea, especially with milk. However for a lower calorie version I make it with water and then add powdered creamer - it's almost as good as making it with milk. Regardless, it's a great product and I have a cup every morning..........love it.
save yourself money! March 15, 2007 Harmony M. Lattin I can't believe that people go out for tea when this chai is available. The 4 is for this flavor. It is a little less rich than the vanilla but still a wonderful treat to serve to girlfriends and sip on a snowy day.
Instant Chai Tea February 4, 2007 Rebecca Johnson (Washington State) While you can make your own chai tea, it does take some work to gather all the spices and then steep them in milk. The Oregon Chai tea mixes are rather easy to use. You can either make regular tea and add the packet like you would milk and spices or you can serve this with hot milk or even just water. If you are looking for a very creamy version, you can make a 16-ounce cup of hot water in the microwave and then add one packet of Oregon Chai Tea Mix, 1 packet of hot chocolate and 2 Constant Comment tea bags. That is my favorite combination so far. While the tea bags are for an 8-ounce cup, I make a much larger cup of tea, so this is perfect to mix with a tea bag and more powdered milk. Ingredients: Sugar, dried whole milk, dried nonfat milk, natural flavors, dried honey, tapioca maltodextrin, decaffeinated dried black tea and salt. Yes, salt! Each packet is 100 calories. Also look for Ready-to-drink individual servings and liquid concentrates where you just add milk. If you are just using a packet of this mix and 8 ounces of water, you might still want to add some powdered milk to make it extra creamy. Whipped cream and nutmeg also make the drink more delicious. ~The Rebecca Review
