Best AutoSeal Spill Proof Mug on the Market January 8, 2009 James R. Bergren (Battle Ground, WA) I own several high quality travel mugs that claim Spill Proof, yet when tipped over they dribble liquid onto your clothes or auto fabric. Recently I came across the Contigo AutoSeal Vacuum mug and was hestiant to purchase it for fear I was going to get another mug that claims to be spill proof and have a mug that leaks. I went ahead and purchased it knowing I could return it if needed. I'm telling you, after filling it with water and shaking it vigorously in all directions to see how it would react, I could not make it spill or dribble. The company is true to its word in that the AutoSeal on this mug will NOT spill. The mug has a nice ergonomic design for comfort in handling and fits well in cup holders. Most of all, I just enjoy knowing that I am no longer going to accidentally spill anything on me, in cars or anywhere. The company also makes children's car mugs/cups with the AutoSeal to replace the traditional sippy cups. The Contigo mug claims it holds liquid temperatures hot for 4 hours, but I haven't kept liquids in that long. Even if it didn't, just the sole reason that it doesn't leak is worth the purchase.
No spill, keeps coffee hot January 7, 2009 LBC (Mass.) I bought this coffee mug a couple months ago and I have used it every day. I have never had a problem with it leaking,it keeps my coffee or tea hot and if I don't get a chance to drink it on my way to work it stays at least warm enough to drink for a few hours. It was more money than I would usually spend but I think I'll get a lot of use out of it.
Excellent for what it advertises, great for much more. January 4, 2009 D. Oates (South Carolina) I have had this mug for about two weeks now, and admit that I am quite impressed. Its autoseal feature is truly unprecedented. You can literally play football with this mug, and not a drop of your beverage will escape. This feature is incredibly useful, but is not the reason I love this mug. The reason I gave this mug 5 stars is not the Autoseal feature, but the insulation of the mug. You can keep ice water cold for a whole day, and I have been able to keep coffee hot for upwards of 3 hours, which is amazing. The insulation comes in the form of a contoured, sexy, double paneled stainless steel body. This is a great mug and I recommend it to anyone, whether you are a constant traveler or working student.
LOVE IT! January 4, 2009 Christina (Kansas City) Great mug! It really is spill proof! I rolled the mug around, tossed it on the floor, and turned it upside down...nothing came out! Keeps coffee hot and ice water cold for a long time. I filled the mug with ice water, and it still hadn't melted 8 hours later. Easy to clean. Great design! I would definitely recommend this to anyone.
average to below average December 31, 2008 Brent Mcalee Just purchased and am a bit disappointed. Keeps coffee hot for one hour, not 4. Also, the rubber top does give hot beverages a nasty rubber flavor as other reviewers have noted. It's nice looking and definitely spill proof, but overall I think it's way too pricey for the performance it gives.
