4 out of 5 stars Great Coffee Maker   January 9, 2009
D. Hislop (Northern California)
This is a great coffee maker. The undercounter mounting provides more counter space. The interrupt feature is great so that one can take a cup before the brewing cycle has completed. One caution is to make sure that the pot is completely seated under the brew basket and that the actuating lever is engaged. Failure to do this will result in an overflow from the brewing basket. Beyond that criticism, it does exactly what it should do. The programing timer works well and the two hour heating cycle is just right.

5 out of 5 stars Black and Decker Spacemaker Coffee Maker, Black   December 24, 2008

This coffee pot works great in our RV, we had to use longer screws to mount it due to the sub layer in our RV cabinets, but still it mounted easily and gives us much more space on the counter. You know how limited counter space is in an RV.

1 out of 5 stars Should be recalled   December 8, 2008
P. Zommer (Taunton, Maassachusetts)
I had a Black & Decker spacemaker model for 13 years and loved it. When it took its last breath, I naturally went with the new space maker. What a huge disappointment. I woke up one morning to find the grinds and water all over the counter. I called Black & Decker and they sent me a new brew basket. This one leaks all over the place, unless you tape it shut or wrap elastics around the front inner part of the basket. The clock changes time all by itself and after you pour yourself a cup of coffee, you need to put the cup in the microwave to make the coffee hot enough.

Just the fact that it leaks hot fluid all over the counter should be reason enough to recall it. Black & Decker should be ashamed to sell such an inferior product.

3 out of 5 stars A little dissatisfied   December 6, 2008
E. Baur (Eden, NY)
My B&D spacemaker is not even 2 yrs old and it has started leaking all over the counter while brewing. Also the clock never worked right from the beginning, always ran fast, so I had to reset it at night if I was going to use the auto brewing. Other than that, I liked it alot as it doesn't sit right on the counter and you can wash the water reservoir separately, which is difficult on a counter model (we have well water & it gets yucky.)

3 out of 5 stars need suggestions!   December 1, 2008
kate love (Kalamazoo, MI)
I was on here to get this for a gift since i really like mine. it only provides enough room underneath to feel like i have more counter space and less stuff to move when i wipe my counters. I guess i'll look for a coffee maker with better reviews for my gift.

i did notice on ours that it only brews 10 out of the 12 cups of water. i always use filtered water and we run coffee cleaner cycles. we got this only about 2-3 months ago.

the main problem i have is how steam just bursts out around the top, getting the cabinet it's mounted to all wet. this worries hubby and i. i would like to make this coffee maker work. it is so convienient...right by the sink...easy to take out the resorvoir and fill it. easy to clean it. i was thinking of creating new holes to let steam escape out the right side (when facing it) which is towards my sink. i don't want to poke anything important. has anyone tried this? it's too expensive to screw up. thanks if you can help! and good luck if you decide to buy one of these...save your reciept and box:)
