My favorite January 9, 2009 Nancy D. (USA) This is my favorite T disc flavor. Smooth and mild, the Tassimo makes the perfect latte right in my own kitchen. Adding a splash of flavored syrup makes it extra special.
Good Latte, But Needs A Second Espresso Shot For My Taste! December 28, 2008 A. Stagg (Virginia, USA) Overall, this makes a good latte, but it's a little weak for my wife's taste. She drinks a latte every day and complained that the coffee flavor was a bit overwhelmed by the milk in this product. Of course, it is all a matter of personal taste, but it may be worth brewing a second shot of espresso for some people. I always order a double shot in my latte and cappuccino drinks anyway. This brand has a slight edge over the Maxwell House Latte kits, since the Gevalia Espresso, T-Discs for Tassimo Hot Beverage System, 16-Count Packages (Pack of 2) are a bit stronger and have more bite than the Maxwell House version which cuts thru the taste of the milk a bit better. As for the milk, it's 2% milk, but has a very rich taste. Overall, this is a good product and much cheaper than buying a latte at the local bistro!!
Not the same as the Cappuccino December 12, 2008 S. Stephens (atlanta, ga) I realy give this product 5 stars, but I wanted you to find the review near the one that says it is the same as the cappuccino. I don't think they are the same. The espresso pod in the latte is a different color than the cappuccino. They seem to brew the espresso and the milk differently in both drinks. I am not an expert on lattes and cappuccinos, but I only order lattes and I have tried them both from the coffee shops. Now, I think I know somewhat of what makes them different using the Tassimo system that is inexpensive enough to sample a few drinks and figure out the difference. Gevalia makes a great Latte - golden, rich and creamy. I prefer their latte over cappuccino because the cap has a stronger espresso brew and seems more skim than the latte - more froth in the cap though. The cap seems to first water the milk and then produce a thicker foam on top. The frothing is not something to rival, but froth does remain in the cup once you have finished the drink. The cap is more dark-chocolaty with a bite than creamy like the latte. The latte was creamy to the last drop with a weaker froth that disappears in the first minute of stirring. I did make the latte with milk disc first and espresso last and I have not made another one because I have been busy sampling other coffees. I like the latte. As with all of the coffees, the brew is hot, but I find you have to finish it within 5-7 minutes to enjoy the heat when not using a thermos. This may frustrate some. The portions are so adequate though, that you never have but a drop left and there is nothing to through away... and you feel satisfied. I find that I only use a high quality ceramic cup from Chantal to ensure the heat of my coffee when using this system. With my old coffee maker, I used any cup as heat was not a problem.
Latte September 18, 2008 Kathryn Ecklond Product is EXCELLENT, however I'm very disappointed with the price. The price has gotten way too costly (averages about $1 to $1.25 per cup). People have spent over $150 for the machine, the pods should be about $.50 per cup.
gevalia latte pods September 7, 2008 M. Kim This is my favorite coffee drink of the entire line. I no longer need to go to Starbucks to get my latte fix!!!
