Good information; plain language. December 24, 2007 Deckchair21 (Ontario, Canada) Make sure to do plenty of research before embarking on a venture such as owning/running a coffee bar; it's not a easy as it seems. This book provides a good start.

Hi, I am a Korean who would like to run my own coffee bar in Korea soon. It was very difficult to find really good guide books here in Korea, I mean ,written in Korean. Hoping to find one, I visited this Amazon and to my happiness I fianlly could find it, this book 'Start and Run a Coffee Bar'. This book is so practical and helpful to me. I appreciate that two writers would share their experience and knowledge with us.

I usually dont write these sorts of reviews but this was just exactly what i was looking for. A great primer on things you need to know and do to open a coffee shop including checklists. I would recommend it to newcommers to the business.
Applys to other retail businesses December 31, 2006 Adeena Mignogna (Maryland, USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this book several years ago before I knew what type of business I was going to be in. I've now owned a retail store (paint your own pottery) for more than 4 years and looking at this book now, it does have a lot of good information for anyone looking to start and run a retail business with a service aspect. The chapters on business planning, setting up your business, insurance, securing a site, getting to opening, staffing and the last 4-5 chapters on operations all are well-written and applicable to many forms of retail.
